Using a USB Extension Cable with EasyScan – Recommendations and Troubleshooting

Using a USB Extension Cable with EasyScan

The USB cable supplied with your EasyScan device is approximately 1 metre long.
Depending on your setup, it can exit the device from either the left or right side.

If you would like to extend the cable:

If you wish to place your EasyScan further away from the computer, you can use a USB extension cable.
Please note the following:
  1. Always use an active (powered) USB extension cable to ensure a stable signal.
  2. A powered extension cable has its own power supply, such as an additional USB plug or power adapter.
  3. A total cable length of up to 10 metres normally works reliably.

Example:

You can use any active USB extension cable with its own power source. Here is an example model*:
  1. USB extension Cable for EasyScan
(*other brands or models are suitable as long as they are powered.)

Important troubleshooting note:

If the EasyScan camera or software is not working properly, (for example: no connection, image errors, or software crashes):
  1. Disconnect the extension cable.
  2. Connect the EasyScan directly to your computer.
  3. Check if the issue still occurs.
Alert
If the problem only occurs when using the extension cable, the cause is almost always the cable or insufficient power supply.
